Our nonprofit’s structure consists of our governance members including our external members with active voting membership status and our internal board of directors. Our hierarchy is governed by our Articles of Incorporation and our nonprofit Bylaws. No one person within or outside of our structure owns the domestic nonprofit. Our beneficiaries or shareholders are the Public within these United States of America, including community members as well as entities such as private citizens and other organizations. No one person or entity can make decisions outside of those guidelines or outside of our governance members vote or consensus.
Board Directors are voted to remain within each of their role or position by our voting members and the board of directors themselves. To break a tie or reach a quorum or consensus, the external voting members must be involved. See our Bylaws with enclosed guidelines for more. Our Bylaws guide and dictate our public body’s operations. Voting Members are external public members, including private citizens and organizations such as private trusts, who purchase a voting membership, which is how they become governance members. They may terminate their membership or face expulsion in accordance with our Bylaws, membership rules and regulations.
We have three (3) main classes of external members who may enroll in our membership plans, plus our new class added in 2025. The first class is our voting membership with governance powers and rights. This class is part of our governance members; and is at the top of the hierarchy with board members right after following suit. You may hear or see us refer to this class as Voting Members or “governance membership”. The second class of members is our limited-voting membership; and the third class is the non-voting membership.
These two classes are not part of our governance members and may be referred to as “privilege memberships”; and so, these two classes do not have organizational voting powers or governance rights or entitlements. Albeit, the second class of membership consisting of Limited-Voting Members can vote in, lead and/or co-lead some of our Committees, supervised by our board members. Our non-voting members can co-lead certain nonprofit projects in some of our committees under the guidance of the limited-voting members or our board members. See our Membership page for more.
In 2025, we added a new class of membership which is not part of the board and is less committed than our non-voting members. These are Essential Members. They can participate more to receive benefits, leadership opportunities and community service hours; essential members are encouraged to attend our mandatory annual meeting, although it’s optional for them. This membership plan is convenient for individuals who would still like to support a good cause but choose to be less committed and less involved due to several factors including time, location/distance and other challenges in life. See our Membership page for more.
Our external members, including governance members and privilege members, are paying patrons and are also not paid by the organization; although, the external members enjoy privileges and entitled rights which may include discounted or free services and items as well as more engagement. Like all other public members, the external members are part of the community and are therefore eligible for reimbursements once enrolled in any of our reward programs, including our point-based loyalty reward investment programs. The number of hours spent in events is at the discretion of the member, although members are encouraged to attend the mandatory annual meeting. A member can expect to spend at least about one (1) to ten (52) hours volunteering with our organization, per each year.
We have 9 main committees at present and they are: Audit, Creative, Fundraising, Marketing, Outreach, People, Project, Records, and Public Relations. We are working on forming and adding an additional committee for a 10th committee: Research. Essential members do not typically lead or co-lead any of our committees but are welcomed to actively participate as much as possible when invited. Non-Voting members can engage and participate in activities organized by any committee as long as they are invited and there is interest, a desire or a need. They may also co-lead in specific committees only, along with the Limited-Voting members or the Board members if endorsed or approved. Limited-Voting members can co-lead most committees and they may lead specific committees. Voting members can lead and co-lead most committees along with the Board members. You may also view our About and Join Us page for more information. More details on our membership plans, enrollment and committees are found on our Membership page.
Who We Are: We are a nonprofit organization and we provide services including educational, counseling, case management, as well as financial support, at low affordable cost or for free when possible. Educational services, case management, financial and daily living courses (support groups), and counseling support are provided through TDNT Counseling Services.
Our customers or clients (the public) can become financially savvy and learn to save for a rainy day by attending our free or affordable courses and/or by opening up a TDNTCSA financial account with us. Small $100-$500 loans through TDNT Loans may also be available to potential clients in need (check out our website and click the appropriate links to see if loans are currently available).
We also provide Notary Public services; Community Service Hours thru Volunteer Service, classes and/or purchase; Belongness through Membership Enrollment Plans; Home Healthcare or Companionship services; Engagement and Action opportunities through Donations and Donor Relationship Enrollment Plans, among others. We are planning and in the process of fundraising so that we can fund our Charitable Community Projects. Those include our Community & Home Intervention Outreach Project, our Collegiate Scholarship Program Project, and our Homelessness Prevention Project. Those are just some ways we serve the public and our communities.
As a Member of TDNT Social Services, Inc., you are encouraged to attend our fun and engaging fundraising events. Our members are encouraged to actively engage in the planning process, contributing their time, talents and efforts, volunteering for a good cause and enjoying the perks and benefits that come with being a Member of TDNT Social Services, Inc.! Members play an important role in the organization and have lots of contributing power and incentives.
Our Membership falls under three main classes: Non-Voting Members (privilege members), Limited Voting Members (privilege members), and Voting Members (governance members). Applications are online and above. You can also click the payment link above to activate your membership (see above). We have added a fourth membership class in 2025 called Essential Members. This class is a new exciting opportunity for all community members across the country to join and contribute to our great organization without the commitment level that the other three classes may have to bring. Essential members are still encouraged to actively participate and engage as well as contribute. You may want to enroll in the Essential I, II or III plan depending on your contributing power.
Member Benefits are broad and include voting powers or rights in the organization; deep discounts on fundraising activities and events; incentive program options in our TDNT Counseling Services program; Community Service Hours for school, court orders, or others; Volunteering for work and leadership experience at a legitimate nonprofit organization; deep discounts or waivers on maintenance fees on our financial educational tools and services; lower fees, fee waivers, higher borrowing power and longer payment terms on our financial support services; discounts or free services and products; Having a voice in your own community; among other incentives.
Member benefits and incentives are based on your membership enrollment plan. Voting Members have the highest levels and amounts of benefits including voting rights, waivers on maintenance fees on certain services, events and tools, more opportunities for participation in leadership roles and responsibilities; access to unlimited or extra community service hours; Limited Voting Members are next in the hierarchy but do not have voting rights, although they can participate in and lead in certain committees and have access to discounts on services and products or tools as well as community service hours. Non-Voting Members also have discounts on services and events as well as community service hours. Essential III Members can enjoy some discounts on events and community service hours
We do accept Donations from Members and encourage members to encourage donations from others. Any donation made to our organization can be used as a tax deduction as allowed by the IRS when you file your taxes. Talk to us for more information. Donors are able to qualify for incentives like discounts on the prices for services we offer. Donor Certificates/Awards are issued annually at the end of the year for donations made in the year. Let us know if you would like to receive a Donor Certificate when you make a donation to us and be sure to include your email and mailing address.
Below is a description of the three (3) main membership classes, plus the essential membership class:
Membership Rules & Regulations
*membership has a 60-day to 180-day probationary period at which point a meeting will be held for a vote to determine whether or not that member remains; new members can be voted off anytime within these 60 to 180 days. Essential members have shorter probationary periods, 7 days to 21 days. If voted off on the 60th, 120th or 180th day, (depending on the membership type), the member will only be responsible for the months he or she held membership, which is usually 3 to 7 months of dues. Or in the case of Essential members, if voted off on the 7th, 15th or 21st day, the member will be responsible for the months he or she held membership, which is usually 1 month of dues. The process to end membership may take more than a day (up to 30 days) to complete, which will likely lead to another month of membership dues. This means, if future months were prepaid as in the example of annual dues paid, members will be eligible for a prorated refund of payments made for the remaining months (minus any payment processing fees). Refunds are only processed if membership is terminated in the probationary period and termination is initiated by the Board. Dues are otherwise nonrefundable.
Non-Voting (NV) members have a 60-day probationary period; Limited-Voting (LV) members have a 120-day probationary period; and Voting (V) members have a 180-day probationary period. The same, Essential members can be voted off on the 7th, 15th and 21st day upon enrolling. Dues are nonrefundable unless we initiate the termination during the probationary period. Essential I (EI) members have a 7-day probationary period; Essential II (EII) members have a 15-day probationary period; and Essential III (EIII) members have a 21-day probationary period. You must be age 12 years old or older in the year to join the Non-Voting Membership, age 18+ in the year to join the Limited-Voting Membership and 21+ in the year to join the Voting Membership. Essential members can be as young as 5 years old but the preferred minimum age is 10 years old. You can still apply before you meet this requirement. We will securely hold your application and payment for you for up to a year until your membership activates. Your membership will activate once you turn the appropriate age.
As you were previously made aware above, Membership Dues are nonrefundable, unless prepaid for future months or years AND you are still in your probationary period. We must have also initiated the termination within that period. Membership renewals take place automatically every 1st of the month, where your monthly dues are automatically withdrawn via the payment method you’ve provided when you first signed up. To make changes to this payment method, please let us know before the 21st of the previous month or submit your new payment online on our website on the 21st of the previous month, which is a week before your payment is due.
To voluntarily terminate your Membership in good standing with us, please write to us and make this request either to our email address at members@tdntsocialservices.org or our mailing address. A 30-Day Notice is required in writing for Non-Voting members, 60-Day Notice is required for Limited-Voting members and a 90-Day Notice is required for Voting members. A 7-day notice is required for Essential I members, a 15-day notice is required for Essential II members and a 21-day notice is required for Essential III members. As previously explained, you are responsible for your Dues in the months you were or are Active. This means if you would like to terminate your Non-Voting Membership, you will be responsible for an additional month of Dues (30-day notice); Limited-voting members will be responsible for two additional months of Dues (60-day notice); and Voting members will be responsible for three additional months of Dues (90-day notice). Essential members will likely not need to submit any additional payments although they may have to make one additional payment depending on the date they signed up.
We value your Membership and your community support through TDNT Social Services, Inc. New members will be able to have access to the Members page within 30 days or a month from the date they activate their membership. They will likely have a personalized Member Page/Account with their Member ID and additional login information within the next 60 days from the date they activate their membership.
Once you become a member, you will have access to copies of the following documents on our site (some of which are public records).

These will be posted online and you as well as the public will be able to enroll for a fee and obtain a certificate of completion with your community service hours included.
About our Committees:
Leadership positions in some of these committees require a Voting membership; however, with Board Nomination, vote consensus and proven engagement and loyalty to the organization in the way we serve the public, limited-voting members may be able to lead in certain committees after 6 months of service to the public through our organization.
We have so far 9 different committees with vacancies. These are Audit, Creative, Fundraising, Marketing, Outreach, People, Project, Records, and Public Relations. We are working on forming and adding an additional committee for a 10th committee: Research. Vacancies include leadership positions including team leads and co-leads. Typically, a senior leader or a team lead with more experience would collaborate with a junior co-lead with less experience to guide and influence events, goals and the direction of our committees depending on what the Board Directors and Executive Officers have laid out based on the By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation as well as the nonprofit’s vision, mission and purpose. Titles we may use include team leads, team co-leads, leaders, moderators, co-leaders or co-moderators.
Non-Voting members can participate in activities organized by any committee as long as they are invited (open) and there is interest, a desire or a need. Non-Voting members are typically invited to engage, participate and contribute in our activities and events. They cannot lead in any of these committees, however. They can actively contribute and participate in the community by attending our events and meetings and by staying current on their dues. They can also encourage others to join and engage with our organization for a greater cause. Non-Voting members can also co-lead with Limited Voting members and/or Board Members after 6 months of active and consecutive membership, if there is vacancy. An application must be submitted to the committees online on the web, to committees@tdntsocialservices.org or by mail; and the application must be approved by the current committee leader(s) as well as the Board Directors and the Voting Members. This typically involves co-leading the Creative, Fundraising and Community Outreach committees.
Limited Voting members can lead and serve in the Creative, Fundraising, and Community Outreach committees under the leadership of our Board Members. In order to co-lead and serve in the other committees, for example the Audit or Public Relations committees, Limited Voting members must have at least 6 months of consecutive service or experience with TDNT Social Services, Inc in the form of active membership. That way, the member is well-versed in our policies, procedures, our mission, vision and purpose, bylaws and can effectively fill these roles. These members must also apply and be approved by vote consensus of other Members and Board Members.
Initiatives to start events like a Community Clean Up event is also possible as a Limited-Voting member. That specific event would fall under our Community Outreach Committee. With vote consensus and once members are active members, they would be able to serve in or lead that committee as they aspire to.
Under the Community Outreach Committee, Limited-Voting members can utilize their skills and past experience to help connect qualified individuals in the community to our organization for Volunteer work. We do not currently do job fairs, but they are welcome to also start that as an event for TDNT Social Services, Inc. where they would set up tables to discuss with members of the community about available opportunities to either volunteer with us under our TDNT Counseling Services program (Grant Writer, Recruiter, Facilitator, Counselor), under our Notary Public services program (Marketing, Advertising, Outreach), under our TDNTCSA program (Marketing, Advertising our financial tools, Outreach), under our other programs or to become an active Member with us!
As members of our organization, community members can in turn join the Community Outreach Committee as well (or others) and work right under and together with the Limited-Voting members and be able to earn community service hours, experience, leadership skills, camaraderie among other attractive benefits from our organization. Limited-Voting members may also get involved in fundraising events and activities encouraging community members to purchase event tickets to fundraise and support our charitable projects and overall cause.
As stated previously, other committees that Limited Voting Members can lead and serve in include the Fundraising Advisory Committee and the Creative Committee. The Public Relations Committee requires a minimum of 6 months served as an active member of TDNT Social Services, Inc. in order to participate. That way, the member is more vested and knows much more about the organization to represent the organization in this capacity.
Essential members (EI, EII, EIII) are encouraged and welcome to participate in and contribute to our events and meetings. They are encouraged to get involved in our committees, especially the Creative, Fundraising and Community Outreach committees. They will have opportunity to pick up on leadership skills, networking and mentorship by volunteering under our committee leaders and co-leaders.
Voting members can lead and serve in any of the above listed committees and can create newer ones in accordance with our ByLaws and with vote consensus. They can also start community events and vote to alter policies of the committee. Voting members can also apply to co-lead if they’d prefer to co-lead instead. They typically co-lead with other Voting members or Board directors.
For more information on the voting process for the organization, the voting process for the committees, our annual meetings, special meetings and committee meetings, please visit the members page.
INVITATION Letter
Congratulations! TDNT Social Services, Inc. Would Like to Extend a Membership Invitation to You!
Make a Mark On Your Community, Join Us!
We are pleased to inform you that we have membership vacancies and we would like for you to become one of the members of TDNT Social Services, Inc (TDNTSS, Inc.). The members of TDNT Social Services, Inc would like to extend a cordial invitation to you to join our nonprofit organization and help us achieve and maintain the quality of life we need and we enjoy in our communities. We are a dedicated group of involved and caring citizens who feel that an involved citizenry is our best solution to the social problems that challenge our communities.
TDNTSS, Inc. is a non-profit organization that aims to serve communities by way of providing counseling, education and financial services to individuals or organizations of low-social economic status. We aim to provide these services either free or of low cost to individuals who have a need but cannot obtain these services due to their financial status, their lifestyle or lack of access. Our vision and mission entail carrying out continuous or short-term activities and projects that are likely to support the organization in providing immediate relief to others in need in the community (wherever we serve and reach in these United States of America). We hope that our services will not only provide temporary relief and improve lives, but that these services will have a permanent or continuous and positive effect on these individuals’ overall social, educational and financial well-being, well into the future.
Most recently, we reached out and provided counseling intervention services, home visits and rent assistance to at least 5 of our community dwellers who contacted us and requested our assistance. We feel that your experience, your involvement as well as your understanding and passion for our founder’s vision and the organization’s mission, vision and purpose would make you a valuable member to our nonprofit organization.
We meet multiple times as needed weekly or monthly to update current programs and to plan future activities. At least two of those meetings are mandatory and they may take place remotely via teleconferencing either by telephone or online. We also hold at least 6 annual fundraising activities including a walkathon, a scavenger hunt, an environmental gift exchange party, a healthcare worker and pandemic support event, as well as a skills and job training event.
We also have a Scholarship Program as well as a Homelessness Prevention Project, where we make renewable scholarships, rent and food assistance as well as low interest short term loans available to our contacts and clients in need. We provide free or low-cost counseling, support, educational and coaching services to clients remotely or by home visits.
We have openings in our Creative, Fundraising and Outreach Committees where you can come up with newer and more fun activities that we can hold like a spouse social among other activities. Dues are $25.00 per month for our non-voting members, $75 per month for our limited-voting members, and $500 per month for our voting members. Essential members pay dues in the amount of $1, $5 or $10 per month. They cover our social activities as well as our nonprofit relief projects. Our community service is all volunteer, although some of your expenses may be reimbursable should our budget allow it and based on consensus vote and the decision of our Executive Board and Board of Directors.
Those of us who have been with the nonprofit for some time have found these activities to be some of the most rewarding we have ever experienced. We have increased our network and built deep friendships. We genuinely care and our service are not superficial. We are confident that you, too, will enjoy this affiliation and belonging. We hope you will join us in our efforts and enjoy our fellowship.
